Children's Ballroom & Latin American Classes

Look here to find details of the classic Ballroom & Latin American classes, which are run to suit all ages and abilities.  All classes are designed to prepare the children for medal examinations.

 

What to Wear

Uni-Ted 3 - 5 yrs
Leggings or shorts with T-shirt.  Please no denim-wear.

Girls 5 - 11 yrs
Juvenile Ballroom or Latin dress in either royal blue or daffodil yellow (the school colours)

Girls 12 yrs and over
Skirt in either blue or yellow with a capped or short sleeved T-shirt (not vest top) and leggings under the skirt (if preferred).

Boys
School trousers or dark coloured slacks (dance trousers if owned) with either a black or white shirt.  Ties may be worn.

Payment
Payment may be made by cash or cheque.  We regret that we are unable to accept payment by credit or debit card.

 

Ballroom & Latin American Absolute Beginners
This class will be taught the basic figures of one Ballroom and one Latin American dance over the term at beginners level.  Introducing them to partner dancing and the balance and poise required for dancing together.
5 - 7 yrs

10 - 17 yrs
Mondays from 22 February 2010	5:00 - 6:00 pm
Old Time Classes	5yrs upwards
Old Time dancing is based on the five-foot positions of Ballet, and teaches the individual poise and balance required for this elegant and stylish form of couple dancing.  Medals range from the very basic Introductory Awards to Gold plus.
Fridays from 26 February 2010	4:00 - 4:30 pm
Uni-Ted Club	3 - 5 yrs
A mixture of party, disco and fun dances with an element of early training for Medal awards.  These classes are for younger children to give confidence, balance, and above all, enjoyment to music.  Please register early for this class as there is a waiting list.
