Where should I drop off and collect my child?
For the safety of your child(ren), all children under the age of 13 years must be brought into the building and collected at the end of their class. Dancers of Chippenham will not take responsibility for children until they have registered and gone into class. Please do not drop them off at the main door and drive away.
What should my child wear?
Please check the information for each dance style, which will
advise on the correct uniform for that dance style. Uniform is
required within 4 - 6 weeks of starting class. This is
available from the school.
Shoes
All shoes worn outdoors must be removed and changed into
the correct footwear before entering any studios. Both from a
safety point of view and for good dancing, pupils must wear the
correct footwear. Any shoes worn outdoors are not
permitted in the studios.
How should my child's hair be worn?
Applies to ALL dance classes
Hair must be back from the face.
Long hair should preferably be worn in a bun, plait, pigtails
or pony tail. Short hair in a top knot; hair clipped back
behind ears or held back with a firm headband. It is important
for the teacher to see the face and neck in order to achieve the
correct poise and balance.
How are fees paid?
The Payment system is on a full term (20 weeks), or half term (10
weeks) basis. If there are problems with these payment terms
please let us know.
Ballet, Scottish Country Dancing, Irish and Jazz dance terms are
organised by the individual teachers and may very in length
according to their commitments.
Medal tests, medal practices, medal presentations and parties will
be priced separately.
What will happen if my child is absent?
Any pupil absent for four consecutive weeks (without informing
the school) will be assumed to have finished and taken off the
register. This also applies to all those whose fees are not
paid on time.
Subsequently, if they return, they may be placed in a lower class,
in order to avoid disruption to their former class. They will
be required to re-register and pay the registration fee.
Can my child eat and drink during class?
Drinks only are allowed in the studio. If the children are bringing them from home, please ensure they are in a non-spill container. Drinks are also available for sale at the school. Food is not permitted in any studio or in the ballroom, this also includes food for siblings watching.
